One thing we do in Sister Sibling year which is a bit unusual for a spiritual priestess training, is we have a whole curriculum of herb craft for you to follow. 

So what’s up with that?

Our Mystery School has the goddess Morgan le Fay at her heart, and she was known as a powerful healer and herb witch. She knew the properties of all healing herbs and used them to heal, help… and sometimes hex folk!

Now, we are not really in the hexing vibe of witchery here at Morgan le Fay Mystery School (but babe, you do you) but we ARE very very keen on learning how to work with herbs to heal.

Why is this? 

Well, not only is it a core skill of Morgan le Fay and the Priestesses of Avalon, and so it is an excellent skill to cultivate as we walk in their footsteps and begin our journey to be a Priestess of Morgan le Fay…

… working with plants and herbal preparations brings us into deeper communion with the natural world in pretty much the biggest way possible.

In Goddess spirituality we worship and honour Nature as the great goddess and great teacher, but in our modern lives how often is our connection to the natural world more a theory than an actual lived experience?

This is why we study herbs and make herbal preparations in Sister Sibling Year.

There is such a perspective shift that happens when you are able to go for a walk and you spot herbs and weeds everywhere that you know are healing and beneficial for humans.

Suddenly you are tapping into the rich history of humans as beings of the landscape. Folk have used these herbal remedies and preparations for thousands upon thousands of years, and we grew and evolved in tandem with the plants that surround us.

You are living in a world where Nature provides us with so much – not only food, but also the methods to heal ourselves. She gives us comfrey for broken bones, lavender to help us sleep, red raspberry leaf for our wombs…

…and understanding this helps us feel a deeper sense of connection and trust with the natural world around us. Big stuff for goddess peeps!
