April Theme : TBA

We cannot wait to meet you and sit with you in circle!

You don’t have to bring anything with you, just yourself exactly as you are – no need to dress up or look presentable, but if you want to… wear red or bring a red scarf.

If you like, it is nice to bring these things with you to this circle but it is totally optional:

🍎 A shawl or blanket to wrap yourself in so you feel snuggly and comfortable

🍎 A favourite mug from home (it’s always nicer drinking out of your own mug!)

🍎 Cosy slippers to wear

Welcome to the Cambridge Red Tent!

Come! Pour yourself a hot cup of herbal tea and come sit in the Cambridge Red Tent.

Breathe in – Ahhhh. Smell the scent of rose and frankincense as you quietly come back into your body as you settle into sacred space in this magical women’s retreat. Feel your sisters join you around the beautiful red altar, women you do not know and yet, in a deeper way, you do as you all carry the red thread of life.

In the Red Tent we connect with ourselves. We tell stories. We share secrets that we could never tell another soul, and we nod in understanding as we recognise ourselves in the lives of our sisters.

It’s our moment to remember ourselves in the rushing river of life, here in this Red Temple at the start of every new month.

What happens at a Red Tent?

🌹 We connect in with sacred space and come into presence

🌹We share our own life experiences and stories, seeing them from a wider mythic viewpoint. You will be invited to share about the topic of the circle, whatever comes up for you.

🌹 We have the honour and privilege of listening to the life experiences and stories of other women and seeing ourselves reflected in them.

🌹We relax and connect in with guided meditations.

🌹We often perform a simple and beautiful ritual or ceremony to mark the theme of the Red Tent and help us deepen in with the work.

🌹 We drink lots of tea! We have cups and lots of herbal tea bags – bring your own cup from home to make it super cosy!

You are so welcome here - we would love to meet you!

A red tent is a beautiful space to connect with others.

Usually at a red tent, we get ourselves a nice cup of tea and sit down. We do a little opening meditation to get ourselves present in the space and not thinking about our shopping lists of the kids school lunches tomorrow, and then we all share stories and experiences on the theme of the week.

Some weeks we might do a little ceremony, or a meditation, or exercise, or celebration after our sharing circle – it’s super fun!

At the end of the event, everyone is welcome to pull an oracle card and chat and make friends with their fellow Red Tenters as the facilitators pack up the beautiful space.

All women are welcome, including cis and trans women. Non-binary folk who have a female body and who would like to be in a space that centers the experiences of women/being perceived as a woman by the world around us and the experiences of a female body are also very welcome.

Red Tents will often talk about female-bodied experiences. Trans-women are welcome in this circle no matter the topic, and we mention if it will be a particularly womby or female body centric class in advance on this page. We don’t post explicit descriptions of the topics of the red tent in advance – we like to keep it a mystery.

Yes. Red Tents are safe places to talk and explore and share about what it is like to live in a female body, to be and be seen as a woman in the world. This includes talking about menstrual cycles, periods, fertility and life transitions.

It’s important to have a place where we can talk about periods and the practical parts of experiencing life through a female body so we can release the shame and feel free!

Some Red Tents are more womby and periody than others – you can check the topic of the red tent two weeks before it starts.

We have four tiers of pricing:

Sponsor – The highest fee, for folk who can pay it forward to make space to support those for whom this event would be financially difficult to attend

Full price – The regular full price of the event

Low Wage/Student – Concessionary pricing for folks who need it

Support – If you want to come but tight finances mean our pricing is out of reach for you, get in touch with us in the form below. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to attend can attend the red tent.

You get to pick the price that works best for you right now.

Yes there is street parking!

Yes of course! The more the merrier.

No one is too old to attend the red tent – the beauty of it is that women of all ages attend and can connect with eachother. It is beautiful to hear the stories of the women younger than yourself and it is a gift to share your presence and experience with others. You are welcome!

We have a minimum age of 18 years old to attend the Red Tent.

There will be hot water, tea bags and cups (I recommend bringing your own mug from home, it’s always nicer to have your own mug) and you are welcome to bring chocolate, fruits, dates, and yummy snacks with you to share if you desire!

You do not need a womb to join the red tent – many women do not have wombs, either through being born without them or through having had a hysterectomy. Still totally welcome.

However, we do talk about the experience of the female reproductive system a lot at the red tent, so be prepared for that. If you don’t like the sound of that, it’s probably not for you.

If you have a womb, you don’t have to be on cloud nine about it either – not all wombs are easy creatures to live with, and they can cause us a lot of pain and difficulty. Your experiences are completely normal and welcome at the Red Tent, and it can be very healing to have a space to be real about your relationship with your body.

Many of us grow up with a sense of taboo and discomfort around our reproductive parts – being part of a red tent helps us soften those taboos and helps us be more at ease in our bodies.

That said, I mention in advance if it will be a particularly womb-reproductive-system centric class or not.

Yes! Feel free to reach out to me, Demi, by emailing me at rockstarpriestess(at)gmail.com and let me know your worries! I would be so happy to connect with you and welcome you in advance and answer all your questions.

I want you to know also if you like you can come along to the red tent and be quiet and not share anything. That’s totally allowed. When it is your time to speak you just have to say something along the lines of “I am settling in to being in this space, and I am not ready to share yet, but thank you for making the space for me and I am receiving so much from hearing your stories! Thankyou!”
