A Sister is someone who has been touched at their very soul by Morgan le Fay. She is someone who has studied her arts – the ways of enchantment, of herbcraft, shadow work, priestess and energy work – and is committed to deepening her sisterhood skills, seeing other women as allies and working to lift them up in the world.

Being a Sister of Morgan le Fay is about claiming your shadow and your light.

It’s giving yourself the skills to not be afraid of the shadow, to be willing to practice giving those dirty, shameful parts of ourselves love and compassion (because it’s hard and we will doubtless fail to remember to do this many many times) and to walk the twilight between the light and the dark. This bit is about knowing who you are, being on intimate terms with your darkness and being willing, possibly even excited, about the pathway of underworld transformation.

Morgen sisters like to go deep. Maybe it’s a masochistic thing.

Being a Sister of Morgan le Fay is about deeply acknowledging that you are a magical being.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t fit the stereotype of a “real” witch – I sure don’t, all dressed up in pink and teal and too lazy for all that high magick stuff – or if your path of magic is manifestation and intention rather than witchcraft – it all counts. A sister of Morgan le Fay is awake to the many forms of magic in the world, as at her core Morgana is a Sorceress.

Becoming a Sister of Morgana is about opening our eyes to the living magic that is being incarnated on this planet. It’s about letting yourself play with reality, and ride all those pesky contradictions of life – taking it seriously, and also knowing it’s all a game and nothing matters. It’s about discovering what YOUR magic is, and having the confidence to rock the fuck out of it.

The third part of being a Morgen Sister is recognising that we are free, free as the Morgen crows, free as the shapeshifting goddess of magic and wisdom herself.

This freedom is about being able to embrace your true nature – wether it’s intrinsically dual like mine, half Aphrodite dancing love machine and half serious shadow walking Morgana goddess, or all about galactic downloads and far out mysticism, or all about being the grumpy old lady with seven cats who shakes her fist at the neighbourhood kids.

Morgan wants us to know that it’s ok to be whatever the hell we want, and we are always, always allowed to live our truest nature. There is no concept of good or bad with her – after all, she was the divine goddess of wisdom who became the original power-hungry bad gal goddess. She is faery, and morality is not the same: there is truth, and there is not truth.

She is the magic of contradiction, and that’s why her symbol is the Vesica Piscis, the two opposites that meet and merge to form a sacred opening to the Divine. As shapeshifter, she lets us know that we can be as many contradictory things at the same time as we like – we can be party animals, cat people, and introverts at the same time, we can want to be earth mothers and burlesque superstars at the same time, we can love Hogwarts style tests and hate them at the same time, and, taking it to weird shadow places, we can desire two opposing things at the same time – riches and poverty, romance and rejection, all the things.

Right now I am coming to the close of the first year of our Sister Training here at the Morgan le Fay Mystery School, and throughout the year we have been deepening into what it means to be a Sister of Morgana and I’ve been understanding how she works deeper and deeper. It’s not about dedicating as a Sister so you can hurry up and progress to being Priestess, get through Sister Year as fast as possible it so you can get the validation of being a Priestess and being the best or the most spiritual or whatever our ego needs to be satiated.

It’s about becoming a Sister so you can have Morgan at your back as you are given full permission to be magical as fuck and hold all the tools so you need so you can rock out your badass self.

A woman who walks the twilight.

A being of light and shadow.

Contradiction incarnate.

Magic at her essence.

Dual natured.

Free.

Truth unleashed.

That’s what it’s all about my friends.
