If you are longing for Spiritual Connection, you need to read this…

I had a beautiful session with one of my Morgan Mystery School peeps the other day. 

It was about devotion. 

We were speaking about the longing so many of us hold to be connected to the divine and to our soul purpose, and how often we feel restricted from that. 

We want to be fully connected to our spiritual selves, to the magnificent divine, but we feel like we can’t access it – that there is something stopping us.

And sometimes we get stuck in this place for a long time – this longing for union that we can’t quite reach, this yearning for the divine that just is never consummated. 

Here’s the piece though – our outer world tells us we have to work to get to the next “level”, that we have to do stuff in order to be good enough to experience stuff. 

But the spiritual world doesn’t work that way. It isn’t linear. It just exists in the eternal NOW – it’s a world of being, not doing.

So when we are locked in a pattern of yearning for a spiritual connection that we don’t have, all we have to do is wake up and realise that the only thing separating us from the divine is us. 

Here’s the piece though – our outer world tells us we have to work to get to the next “level”, that we have to do stuff in order to be good enough to experience stuff. 

But the spiritual world doesn’t work that way. It isn’t linear. It just exists in the eternal NOW – it’s a world of being, not doing.

So when we are locked in a pattern of yearning for a spiritual connection that we don’t have, all we have to do is wake up and realise that the only thing separating us from the divine is us. 

You can shift your being state from one of separation to one of union like that ️. 

And that painful not-enough yearning we are feeling can be flipped too. 

There are two ways to desire something – desire from lack, or desire from love. 

Here is a valentines-appropriate way to understand this: 

 You are yearning and longing for romance from a place of lack. The only thing you can feel is the distance from where you are to where you want to be and it’s very, very far. Every romantic movie, every cute family with a pushchair and every IG selfie with a significant other is a knife twisting in the wound of “you don’t have this, you are not enough.”  

 You are yearning and longing for romance from a place of love and celebration. You have decided that you LOVE love, and you want to celebrate how amazing it is, therefore every time you see it you are reminded of how much you love it – That romantic movie fills your heart with hope and happiness, that cute family with the pushchair makes you melt because isn’t it a miracle that people love each other, every IG selfie of a friend with their beloved makes you think “Oh, I’m so happy for them! Look love exists and it’s wonderful!” 

And the curious miracle is that yearning with love and celebration actually calls the state of Love into being. You walk through the world blessed by moments of romance, visions of true love, your eyes open to see every moment of sweetness, every toddler carefully petting a pussy cat, every fella gently guiding his date around a puddle, every couple holding hands in the supermarket. 

By choosing to celebrate love everywhere, you invoke love in yourself instantly…

… and you are open to opportunities of romance and attracting the romance you desire too. It just happens easily.  

It’s the same with spiritual devotion. 

Instead of longing with the energy of “I don’t have it yet” or “I can’t have it”…

… we can lean into how much we love the Divine, and the things that make us excited – we can loose ourselves in thoughts of how awesome Mary Magdalene is, or daydreams of ancient goddess temples, or reading spiritual books or creating beautiful altars because it brings us joy and it’s just the best…

… and then the distance between ourselves and the divine just dissolves.

There isn’t any need to wait for spiritual connection. 

It’s always, always right here. 

We just need to lean into our love of it.
